General Information and Rules for entering The Worcester Show Competitions.
- Free entry to all, no entry fee.
- An exhibitor may enter up to 2 entries in each class.
- Giant Vegetables (Section 4) exhibitors may only enter one exhibit.
- Children may enter any section however they will be judged alongside adults, unless stated in the section details.
To enter, please use the online form. Paper entries can also be submitted to the Worcester Show, Guildhall, High Street, Worcester WR1 2EY. No later than 10am on 8th August 2022.
Please bring section entries in Cakes & Preserves, Art, Handicraft, Fun & Creativity (Sections 7, 8 , 9 & 11) to the Craft Marquee, for display between 08:30am to 11:30am on Saturday 13th August to be judged at 11:45am. Floral Decorations/Art (Section 6) will be displayed in Floral Marquee at the same time.
Please bring section entries in Floral, Cacti/Succulents, Vegetable & Fruit & Giant Veg (Sections 1, 2 ,3 ,4, 5 & 12) ready for display between 7.30am to 10.00am on Sunday 14th August to be judged at 10:15am.
Your entry must not be removed, rearranged or interfered with once judging has commenced.
- Shields will be awarded to the winner and runner up of the Schools competition, engraved and displayed at the Guildhall. The students will receive a cup for the school.
Points will be awarded in each class as follows;
1st = 3 points
2nd = 2 points
3rd = 1 point
Any entry not in accordance with the schedule rules, may be disqualified by the judges
All exhibits entering the competition must have been grown or produced the piece/s. (Excluding Cacti & Succulents (Section 2) and Floral Decorations & Art (Section 6)
- No Entry is allow by any craft exhibit that you have entered in a previous Worcester Show.
Medals will be awarded in each class, no prize money given.
If there is only one entry in a class, this does not mean it will receive 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize automatically, this will be up to the judges’ discretion.
Prizes will be awarded in sponsored classes as stated & marked.
Prizes in any class may be withdrawn at the discretion of the judges.
A trophy will be awarded to the ‘Under 18s, Best in Show’ and overall ‘Best in Show’. These are based on the total number of points accumulated by an individual exhibitor.
A trophy will be awarded for each Section, to the exhibitor with the most points.
In the event of a tie on points between exhibitors, it will be awarded to the exhibitor gaining most 1st prizes. If they tie on the same amount of 1st prizes, it will go to the exhibitor with the most 2nd prizes.
The Craft marquee will be open 10am, the Floral marquee will be open by the Mayor at 1pm.
Entries can only be removed from the show on Sunday 14th August after 5pm. Every reasonable care shall be taken of any exhibitors property, and Worcester Show does not hold responsibility.
Trophies will be engraved and displayed at the Guildhall. Winners will a receive a cup to take home. All winners must agree to return cups to the Guildhall by a set date.
