Study the schedule to ensure your plants go in the correct classes. Pay attention to the number of plants per entry and any pot size restrictions.

The judge will primarily be looking at the general condition and age of each plant. Plants should be healthy and growing well. They should also be pest-free and presentable.

Remove all cobwebs, snail trails and other debris from both the plant and the pot. Dead flowers and leaves should be removed if they come away easily. Wipe the pot clean if necessary.

Take care transporting your plants to the show – potholes and speed bumps can cause a lot of damage. Pack the plants well and drive carefully.
